Healing techniques from the NFL

Here’s an article on some techniques NFL teams are using to get their players in better shape when it comes to recovering from injuries. The lasers that reduce pain sound like they could benefit a lot of people but I suppose they’re not readily available to normal folk…

66 kilograms

I’m getting closer to my goal of 70 kilograms. A few years ago I was 59 kilograms and 23% bodyfat. I’m around 15% body fat now… My wife says my body looks better now than it did 7 years ago when we got married. That’s not saying much considering what kind of shape I was in but it’s still nice to hear.

It really is simple: Work out. Eat a lot. Gain weight.

I’ve been drinking protein shakes after my workouts, taking creatine pre-wourkout, and drinking an intra-workout supplement like Purple Wraath or Intrabolic.

Postpartum Weight Loss- “Yogini Bootcamp

I started a new workshop I call “Yogini Bootcamp”.  I combine intervals of kickboxing, lunges, squats, push ups, tricep dips, and light weights and end with a yoga stretch and meditation.  I’ve found that kickboxing is great for getting your heart rate up and thus losing weight while toning and defining the buttocks, thighs, waist, hips, and upper arms.  Yoga then lengthens and defines the muscles that are worked and leaves one feeling centered, balanced, and energized to take on the obstacles in their day!  I teach a weekly class in San Diego and a longer workshop once a month.  If you are interested in more info email me at info@fitbysara.com or call 800.568.3820 and visit: http://www.fitbysara.com .

Postpartum Weight Loss- How Do You Want to Feel?

When most of us think of losing weight we focus on losing a certain amount of weight. Instead of focusing on the number you want to lose, think about how you want to feel from the result of losing weight. For example, by losing weight do you expect to feel lighter? Happier? or more passionate? Do you want it to be a lifelong change or temporary? If you want to lose weight and feel good while doing it take small steps towards achieving your goals. Slowly increase your exercise routine, and slowly add in healthier foods. Continually remind yourself on how good you’ll feel by losing weight and changing to a healthier lifestyle. Weight loss will be easy when you focus on how good you’ll feel by living a healthier lifestyle.

Pregnancy- Stay Connected to Your Partner

It’s really important that you stay connected to your husband or partner while your pregnant because once you have your baby it will be even harder to find the time to connect.  Keep your relationship a top priority by spending quality “we” time together.  Make sure to keep him in the loop with how you’re feeling both emotionally and physically.  Keep him involved in the growth of your baby by going to appointments together and have him feel your belly often.  The more connected you are before baby comes the easier it will be after baby arrives.
